It’s that time of year again, and we hope this is the best contest yet! Prizes to the best costumes!

After filling out the form completely (please print clearly), you will line up at the Registration table to have your form verified, and you will be sent to have your picture taken.
After your picture is taken, we ask that you return to the waiting area and hang out with the other cosplayers.
After all cosplayers pictures are taken, several finalists will be chosen and announced.
All finalists will move to the staging area to be judged for the final prizes.
——————————————————————————–
How long the contest will run, depends on how many enter the contest.
We have tried to keep the whole event happening around the waiting area so that all can see. We respectfully ask that all participants avoid blocking all doors, stairways, hallways, and the other stores.
If you have any further questions, come ask at our store, or look for anyone wearing a ‘Staff’ badge on the day of the event.
Costumes for those participating in the contest are limited to Japanese rock artists, Japanese animation and Japanese video game characters only.
All participants who enter this contest automatically authorize Tokyo Kid to make use of their photographs taken at the event for any and all promotional and marketing purposes, including but not limited to being displayed on the Tokyo Kid website.
We thank you all for joining us, and we hope you have fun!!
UPDATE 10/4

Please submit scripts to tokyokid@tokyokid.com
I was wondering will non-cosplayers be able to watch cause i know there will be a lot of great costumes
Everyone is welcome. The more the merrier!
This sounds like a lot of fun! I hope I get to participate!
i have been to this contest every yr since 2005. i will not miss it this year. THE BOSTON TWINS WILL RETURN IN FULL COSTUME. look forward to seeing everybody
i am certanly going but i was woundering is there a fee for the event and do we have to make the cosplays or is it ok to buy them? thank you for the help ^_^
There is no entry fee and you are free to make or buy your costume.
hey are you guys selling anime boston tickets the same day?
This sounds really fun but I was wondering how long it’s taken in the past … I might have conflicts if it runs to late.
Do you have to be above a certain age to enter?
Also, can you only enter individually or can you enter as a group/pair?
To answer your questions in order:
1. It really depends on how many people join. The more contestants there are, the longer it will take to judge the costumes. In the past, it usually ran about 2 to 3 hours.
2. There is no minimum or maximum age limit.
3. People have dressed up as groups in the past, but due to time constraints, there is only enough time to judge costumes on an individual basis.
i will be back for the thrid year in a row
And yes, Anime Boston representatives have indicated that they will be there to sell tickets / take pre-registration.
What are the prizes usually ? and can you be like any anime character you want to be ?
1. Prizes will be gift certificates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place.
2. Yes, you can be any anime character you want.
What’s this about skits?
Is this like a mini masquerade event? Are the skits going to be judged, or is this just for fun?
(I still like the idea, no matter what the answer is though. In-character+audience=tons-o-fun!)
The skits won’t be judged. Since people will already be dressed up, we figured that doing roleplay would be a good way to let people have some extra fun.
i would love to know…i don’t have alot to choose from but i still wanna enter….can i just throw color in my hair?! XD
my friend is going and she wanted to know if you can go in 2 cosplay and hae them juged seperate? thank you for the help -^_^-
Hi, I’m going to be attending for the first time, but none of my friends are able to attend. Anyone else dressing as Bleach characters? I’ll be Orhime so it’d be cool if we could hang
can we bring props for our cosplay
It would be really awesome if I could participate in the contest, but because of work I won’t make it in time for registration. Would it be okay if someone registered in my place? Because I’m definitely coming.
1. In the interests of time, we can only allow one entry and one costume per participant.
2. Yes, you can bring props.
3. Unfortunately, the photos required for the judging process will be taken when you register, so you cannot have someone register in your place.
Now that the contest is over… will you be posting the photos you took of the contestants?
Attention Cosplayers,
Please expect pictures to be up sometime this week. Everyone did a great job. I look forward to seeing everyone’s effort next year.

Are the winners gonna be listed? I couldnt go this year so I dont know who won. And the pic’s from last year never included which were the winning cosplays. (Something to add this year perhaps?)
Yes, we will be posting a picture gallery of the winners.
